There are lots of different activities and sessions that happen at Venus and Our Place that you can get involved with. One such activity is our Makers Project. This project started off with a funded tutor around a year or so ago, with the aim of supporting people to participate and develop cottage industry skills like various crafts, sewing, crocheting, knitting, card-making etc. We hoped that this could end up in a community interest company, self sufficient and helping people develop skills and generate income.
As well as saving the world from debt one appointment at a time, our resident Money Management Wizard, Jo Hughes, also contributes to our volunteer training sessions to impart her wisdom and myriad tips and tricks so that our volunteers can confidently address these issues with the individuals they support.
One such training session happened this week at one of our Parent to Parent Volunteer training courses in Halton. Jo facilitates the session to be informal, informative and accessible so that the scary issues of debt and budgeting seem less daunting.
Hi everyone, we hope you're all having a lovely day! We just wanted to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you to all the businesses and organisations who have helped us by donating money and resources to our Money Management Programme this year! We have been able to help so many disadvantaged and vulnerable people thanks to all of you, and we can't tell you how grateful we all are!
