Christmas arrangements at Venus

Ho! Ho! Ho! It's almost Christmas, we are busy little elves in all of our centres this week, wrapping the wonderful presents that kind people from all over the region have donated so that the families and individuals we support are able to share some seasonal joy.  We're preparing for the different Christmassy events we have planned and so our opening times will reflect this.

There are no drop in's this week and we have limited availability for our Gateway open access at Venus for general advice and support.  One to one support will, of course, continue.

Venus Turns Orange for End Violence Against Women campaign

On the 17thDecember 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and invited governments, international organizations to organize activities designed to raise public awareness of the problem on that day.

Women's activists have marked 25th November as a day against violence since 1981. This date came from the brutal assassination in 1960, of the three Mirabal sisters, political activists in the Dominican Republic, on orders of Dominican ruler Rafael Trujillo (1930-1961).

We're recruiting!

Venus seeks to recruit a key worker to work alongside women

in Sefton whose children have been removed into care.

Step Together will support women to address their needs and challenges

to hopefully reduce ongoing incidences of repeat proceedings.

Funding for Step Together is from the Big Lottery, Women and Girls Initiative

The post will have a five year contract reviewed annually

Due to the nature of these roles we can only accept female applicants
