Just wanted to catch up and tell you about a few things we've been up to recently. Clare has been using our Smiley Bus from the Morgan Foundation to take families on day trips through the Easter Holidays, last week a trip to the Safari Park went very well, this week we're looking forward to some splashy fun at Splash World in Southport! Dawn, one of our social work students, is looking forward to donning her cozzi and getting her swim on!
We have had some prospective funders visiting us this week and so we're hoping that we managed to get across to them the work that we're doing and how excited we are about our future plans! We will of course keep you updated about our success or otherwise... keep your fingers crossed!
Jo K attended a workshop recently about Engaging with Gender Issues and it was great to get so energised and inspired from the two day event at Blackburne House. We will hopefully be getting more involved with campaigning and raising awareness about the issues women and children face today. Jo met up with potential volunteers and great contacts who are interested in committing to this too so watch this space for more information, or if you're interested in joining in, get in touch!
We're trying to keep our twitter and facebook feeds interesting and we have an item on our team meeting agenda each week to try to think of information and events with which to update our website. Social media feels like a full time job and if there is anything you think we're missing out then please let us know!
The Centre has been busy as ever and we have a few activities on that you might like to join in... we have an arts and crafts group that meets on a Thursday afternoon, 1pm-3pm. This is a long term project that you can dip in and out of if you prefer, or attend every week! We have counselling, money management and general advice drop in sessions throughout the week - call in, email or call us to make an appointment!
