From Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August 2013, Venus workers accompanied 70 mums and children to stay at the Haven Marton Mere holiday park near Blackpool.

Every Summer Venus raises funds for a residential so that families can spend some time together, women can access support from their workers in a friendly, informal setting, away from the barriers and problems they may be facing at home.

The weather was kind and we all enjoyed the long sunshiny days.  Mums and children made new friends, participated in activities on the site and some of us ventured into Blackpool and the Pleasure Beach.

Our residential was funded through donations from One Vision Housing, Merseyside Holiday Association and the Family Holiday Association.  We were thrilled to be able to take an extra 10 families to join us thanks to Merseyside Holiday Association giving us additional funding at the last minute.

Venus and the families who benefited from this break are grateful for this generous support from these organisations that help us deliver support and positive outcomes for the mums and children who attend.
