Drop In

Drop In

When?

On Monday afternoons from 3.30 – 5.00pm our Children’s Worker runs an after school group for mums and children to play and learn together.

On Tuesday mornings our Centre is open from 9.30 – 11.30am for women to drop in and have a cuppa and a chat. Tuesday afternoons have appointments available for women to access support to complete forms, address issues or seek general advice.

Thursday afternoons 1.00 – 3.00pm we’re open for mums and children to drop in, sometimes we have different activities or themes for these sessions. On Friday afternoons from 1.30-2.30pm we host a Drop In for parents with Children with hearing difficulties facilitated by a specialist speech & language therapist from Alder Hey Hospital.

What Happens?

Whilst at our Drop Ins, women can access sign posting, advice, information and support on many different issues. We facilitate courses in life skills such as DIY, home & fire safety, cookery & nutrition, sexual health, basic skills courses such as English, Maths & IT along with arts/crafts activities.

Throughout the year we also facilitate and deliver ad hoc activities, sessions and informal training on a variety of issues and themes.

People who come to the Drop In have said:

"I just think though it gets you out, and even if it is just for a few hours and it's miserable out - it gets you out. And you're chatting to people."

"It's made me come out a lot more and it's give me actually more confidence...you know, say like, "hang on, no that's not right" and in the past I wouldn't. But since coming here I feel a lot more, y'know, better in myself. And I used to be a little hermit in the house...but it's got me out"

"You get to talk to people who have been through the same thing as what you're going through. One person shares their stories and you think god, what am I moaning about!"

"I like the open door policy. I like that if you're having a bad day there's always somewhere you can go and get a cuppa coffee"
