The Star Centre
In June 2017 we were lucky enough to host local hero Jamie Carragher to open our wonderful, welcoming Star Centre following our rennovation and refurbishment of the former Orrell Arts Centre building on Linacre Lane, just across the road from our long-established Venus Centre.
From here, we provide a friendly and welcoming space along with our partners, where young people up to the age of 18 can access information and advice on mental health issues, as well as group support and a variety of therapies.
Services on offer include counselling, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), psychoeducation, peer support, family therapy, training for parents and group activities addressing issues such as the transition from children’s to adults’ services.
Young people can drop in Mondays 4:00pm - 6:00pm at The Star Centre or Thursdays 4:00pm - 6:00pm @ Thornton Family Wellbeing Centre for information, support and advice. Our LGBTQ+ Group now takes place in Thornton Family Wellbeing Centre Tuesdays 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
The Star Centre address is 98b Linacre Lane, Bootle, L20 6ES.
The Thornton Family Wellbeing Centre address is Stanny Field Drive, Thornton, L23 1TY.
