We're looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our vibrant team! The successful application will be based between our Bootle Centre and remote working and will assist and support the Finance Officer to carry out a range of practical accounting tasks, working towards the collation, checking and analysis of financial information that can then be utilised by senior staff, trustees and accountants. Venus is a growing charity with multiple income streams.
We're sorry to inform you that we have taken the difficult decision to stop accepting new referrals to our Children & Young People Mental Health Project - the Star Centre.
We've got some new vacancies open at Venus and Star Centre:

Health and safeguarding professionals have been working together to support new parents as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
Being a new parent can be a very stressful time and ICON is an evidenced-based programme designed to help parents and carers understand the normal crying pattern of young infants and help them develop successful coping mechanisms to manage the stresses which can be caused by normal infant crying.
Here's our latest timetable for what's on at Venus!

We are still working and want to stay connected with everyone during the current situation. Our Centre’s are closed but we are still delivering some specific support following social distancing rules. For everything else we are providing our services virtually via telephone calls, apps and video calls or if preferred text or email. Ykids and Venus have had the privilege of working in Bootle for over 10 years; delivering projects, services and activities for children, young people, families and the wider community. Together, our two charities are proposing to take on the currently closed Orrell Library building and use it as a venue to provide more services and activities in the local community.
We want to collect your opinions and feedback to see if this is something that you need and want to see in your community. Your opinion matters to us.
It's Thursday afternoon and our cosy, welcoming little Centre is full to the brim of chattering voices, laughter (some crying too!), the clattering of tea cups, the chatter of computer keyboards and the constant ringing of the phone.
Today our Centre is closed while we have a Team Day. We have team days every month to catch up on policy reviews, undertake any activities or reviews that we need to do. We have tried to update our IT systems this morning because we're in the process of implementing a new computer case management system and trying to be more efficient! I have to admit I'm struggling a bit because I'm not computer-y but I'm perservering! So, if you have any suggestions or you're interested in creating a video or taking pictures or anything like that for our social media then get involved!
OOO two blog posts in one day, yowza! So I would like to tell you about our special event for tomorrow's World Book Night. First of all, I'll tell you a little about World Book Night itself.
