As you know, we facilitate placements for students here at Venus and at Our Place.  Students are placed with us for different lengths of time dependent upon the course theyre on and what stage theyre at with their course.  We asked one of our latest students, Fran, to introduce herself and Coleen and tell us a little bit more about their experience...

Hello Everybody!

This is a slightly overdue introduction to Me (Fran) and Colleen as we have been at Venus for 3 weeks already!

As you know from our previous blog posts, we successfully host social work student placements from Universities from around the region, including Liverpool John Moores, Liverpool Hope and Salford Universities.  We also host high school student placements for their work experience modules through year 10 and have had students here from local schools such as the Hawthornes and Chesterfield.  Throughout the last two weeks, we were happy to host Kaitlyn as our resident work experience student.

So this is just a quick one because I'm trying to get used to updating you and having regular little chinwags with you through our website... today at Venus HQ we're supposed to be having a shutdown day.  What is a shutdown day I hear you ask?? Well we're supposed to take some time out from our normal schedules to tidy the building, catch up on filing and any odd jobs that need doing.  I've added a snap of my desk to give you an idea of the uphill struggle I face... sheesh no wonder George keeps going on at me to tidy up!
